Option 2: GoDaddy Help Resources
If you encounter any difficulties, refer to GoDaddy's help documentation for specific instructions and screenshots:
Additional Notes:
Ensure SMTP Authentication is enabled for your email account. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring your email password during the sending process. You can usually enable it within your GoDaddy Workspace Email settings.
Some email clients might ask for additional information like SSL/TLS requirement (which is enabled on port 465).
By following these steps and using the provided resources, you should be able to retrieve your GoDaddy SMTP details and configure your email client for sending emails.
BigRock
To get SMTP details for BigRock, you can follow these steps:
- Log in to your BigRock account.
- Go to the Email Accounts section.
- Click on the email address for which you want to find the SMTP details.
- Click on the "Configure Email Client" option.
- On the next page, you will see the SMTP details for your email account.
- Make note of the SMTP server name, port number, and your email account's username and password.
- If you're using SSL, make sure to enable SSL and use the appropriate port number.
The SMTP details should include the SMTP server name, port number, and authentication details (usually username and password). Make sure to note down these details as you will need them to configure your email client or application to send emails using your BigRock email account.
Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail recently increased security measures, and using your regular Yahoo Mail password for SMTP authentication is no longer recommended. Instead, you'll need to generate a special app password specifically for using with an email client or application.
Access Yahoo Account Info:
- Sign in to your Yahoo Mail account.
- Click on your profile picture or name in the top right corner.
- Select "Account Info" from the menu.
- Enable Less Secure Apps (if necessary)
Yahoo recommends using more secure methods, but if your email client requires it, navigate to "Security & privacy" within "Account Info."
Under "Less secure app access," turn on "Allow less secure apps" (Use with caution and only if strictly necessary). Consider turning it off later for improved security.
Generate App Password:
- Within "Account Info," locate "Account security."
- Click on "App passwords."
- Select the application you'll be using the Yahoo Mail account with (e.g., "Outlook"). You might need to choose "Other" if your specific client isn't listed.
- Give the app password a recognizable name (e.g., "Your Email Client").
- Click "Generate." A 16-character password will be displayed. Copy this password, as you'll need it for the next step.
Now you have the required SMTP details:
SMTP Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port:465 (with SSL encryption) -or 587 (with TLS encryption)
Username: Your full Yahoo Mail address (e.g., [partha@yahoomail.com])
Password: The app password you generated in step 3 (not your regular Yahoo Mail password).
