Overview
This is the very first setting when creating a tour and has a big impact on how your tour inventory (number of available seats will be managed).
Shared Trip
Shared trip is for someone who is willing to share the trip with other participants. In a shared trip, multiple individuals or groups come together to take part in a collective travel experience.
When you set minimum and maximum participants for a trip and start receiving bookings for your shared trip, it will be counted as per departure, and you will observe the number of available seats decreasing.
Control the minimum and maximum participants that each date/time-slot can handle On the dashboard you can notice that where bookings have been made for a shared trip, the available seats keep decreasing as bookings are made.
Notice the number of available seats reduing for each date/time slot This can also be observed on the calendar of a tour page, where you open the date/time slots.
The booked and available seats can also be seen in the tour admin
Additionally, this is also visible to on the booking form visible to end-customers on the storefront. In case you don't want to show the available seats to customers you can control that by TODO
Available/remaining seats for each date/time-slot shown on the booking form
Advanced: Sharing seats across different trips
Additionally, you can share seats across trips. Use this option if booking for one trip impacts the availability or inventory of another trip. This typically occurs when your trips share common resources such as guides, instructors, bikes, diving gear, or other equipment.

Private Trip
A private trip is exclusively for an individual or a group who do not wish to share their travel experience with other groups or participants.
The 'Minimum and maximum participants' setting (shown earlier) simply controls the maximum number of passengers per booking, NOT per departure (because each booking will end up being a different departure).
The total number of private bookings for a particular date/time can be controlled via the "Maximum private bookings" setting, which is in the Settings section of the tour admin:
On the dashboard you can observe that even if multiple bookings are made for the same tour and date/time-slot, the available seats do not decrease. In fact, available seats are not even shown in the scenario, because each booking is treated as a separate departure.
You can observe the same behavior on the calendar of a tour page, where you open the date/time slots.
